My Machines
Introduction
Welcome to ti990.co.uk. I’ve created this site as a repository for information on Texas Instruments Minicomputers. My inspiration has been the recent aquisition of a TI 990/4 that I managed to save from a junk heap.
My TI 990/4 is in fairly clean position having suvived in remarkably clean condition despite been stored in a fairly damp building for many years. TI did a great job of galvanising them, no rust at all! The bad new is the machine has lost its disk drives, CPU card and memory although I’m hopeful to get replacements for these with time.
The machine is a 13 slot chassis box with a programmers console. A floppy controller, serial card and CRT cards are still in place.
For now my plan is to rebuild the machine as far as I can, restoring the PSU to working condition and testing the front panel is operational.
Needless to say, if anyone has a spare TI 990 CPU or memory card, please get in touch as it will be great to get this elegant old beast back into operation.
